When was the last time
that you helped?
Did it feel good? Was it
very difficult? And most importantly, did it work?
Supporting charities and
charitable businesses is a great way to effectively help change conditions
in your environment.
Renaissance Power and
Gas is an Energy Service Company (ESCo), which just means that we buy and sell
the energy products that get delivered by your utility. In our case, we operate
in Con Edison's New York service territory, mainly in the Bronx, Manhattan, and
Westchester. Currently, we're supplying natural gas (and buying it from
traditional sources that don't use hydraulic fracturing).
In fact, there's this really cool scroll-down site about the dangers of fracking that you can check out. |
If you live in New York,
or anywhere with an ESCo program, you've probably gotten a telephone call from
one at some point, mentioning a lower rate than ConEd gives. Well, Renaissance
aims to do the same thing, but we also want to help the environment and
local New York communities.
A percentage of the
profits from a Renaissance gas bill go to supporting local environmental and
sustainability initiatives like The Bronx River Alliance.
It's just a great way to add the little bit of extra support to your community
with something you're already doing.
So I urge you to look
around this blog, our Facebook, and our Twitter as they continue to grow. Communicate with
us. Tell us what sort of community initiatives you'd like to see more of. If
you have one in mind, then let me know and I'll make sure we start looking into
it.
And you can most
certainly get on the program. Signup is free, it's done on a month-to-month
basis, and there's no cancellation fee. Better yet, it supports something
bigger.
If you live in NY and
you have a gas bill for your house or business, make it do something for your community by signing up on the website. Look around
here for new content as it's posted and for info on our business, keep checking
our Facebook. Learn what businesses are signed up with us.
We have many good restaurants. Let us know what you think about it all on
our Twitter.

I'd like to thank you
for reading the blog, and encourage you to keep checking back for more.
And again, sign up. It
only takes a minute, and you're actually doing something pretty cool.
